Creative activity

Draw a picture of your dream garden. What fruit and vegetables would you grow in your garden? Where will they grow: in a plant pot, green house or vegetable bed? Have a go at labelling all the things that are growing.

Outdoor activity

How many times can you hop on your left leg without stopping? Now try your right leg. Which side was strongest?

Creative activity

Paper chains – Cut approximately 8 long strips of paper. Attach them together like in the picture to make your chain. Decorate them with patterns or messages for your friends.

Outdoor activity

Go on a family walk or bike/scooter ride. What plants can you spot? Do you know the name of them? Did you see any greenhouses? Can you see any fruit or vegetables growing? Where did you find them?

Creative activity

It is important to eat at least 5 pieces of fruit and vegetables a day! Do you remember our trip to the life caravan? We chanted together, “Hey, hey 5 a day and a little bit more!” Watch the video to find out about healthy eating and create your own poster explaining why it is important to stay healthy.

Outdoor activity

Jog around your garden for 1 minute. Did you do this without stopping?

Indoor activity

Create a ‘People who help us’ puppet. Talk about the people who can help us (doctors, dentist, police officer, bin man, etc…) and create your own ‘person who helps me’ puppet or picture.

Creative activity

If you had a garden like Oliver’s granddad, what five fruit or vegetables would you grow in it? Choose one piece of fruit or a vegetable and research about it. Find out: where they grow, which country they grow in and what they need to help them grow. Share what you have learnt however you like (this could be a poster, a video of you explaining your findings, a mini book or a fact file).

Outdoor activity

Help your grown up in the garden. Water the plants, dig up the weeds or sweep the path.

Creative activity

Oliver really wanted to use the potatoes to make chips. You can use potatoes to make different meals.

Draw a picture of a meal that you would make using potatoes. Label all the different ingredients or write a recipe. Ask your grown up to help you make your chosen meal. Don’t forget to take a photograph of you enjoying your delicious meal!

Indoor/Outdoor activity

Find objects in your house or garden that begin with these letters; A, C, E, F, G, P, S, T, W, Z.
