About Us

Crossley Hall is a thriving multicultural primary school on the edge of inner-city Bradford serving the Fairweather Green area.

We currently have a three-form entry with 703 children on roll and over 100 staff, including our own 2-year-old and 3-year-old nursery. We are also lucky enough to have a Designated Specialist Provision that caters for children with communication needs including Autism.

Crossley Hall prides itself on its inclusive approach and development of strong relationships with both pupils and families. As a result, our school is full of happy, confident and outgoing children.  Built-in 1876 Crossley Hall has a history going back a long way in Bradford.  Generations of families have come here and sent their children and grandchildren here – we are right at the heart of the community. Parents are extremely supportive and are regularly in school for class assemblies and special occasion days such as our spectacular Christmas Fair.

We have a lovely balance of traditional school buildings built in the 19th Century with modern well-resourced classrooms fit for the 21st century.  We have great ICT facilities for learning. The whole school has a wireless network, a class set of laptops and interactive whiteboards in every classroom. We have invested in a large number of iPads that are used on a regular basis for innovative learning.

We may be over 100 years old but our education outlook and facilities are right in the middle of the 21st century. We nurture our pupils whilst providing a personalised challenging and exciting curriculum for all children which leaves them leaving Crossley Hall as well rounded citizens, equipped for Secondary School and life beyond.

At the age of two, children join our new CHiPS Nursery which provides them with high quality, play-based curriculum, rich in language and experimental learning and ready for Nursery at the age of three.  This continues through Reception and Year One where we continue our play-based approach to learning.  In this way we ensure all children develop the correct disposition and attitudes to learning and school.

At Key Stage 1, our children achieve above National Average in all subjects and the children begin their journey through the National Curriculum.

The curriculum in Key Stage 2 encompasses a wide range of subjects that we teach in a thematic approach.  This means that each year group has ‘Topics’ based on local, national and international themes.

Tied into this curriculum we have a huge range of school visits. Destinations have included: Canon Hall, Ingleborough Hall, Buckden House, York, London, Bradford  Industrial Museum, Doe Park Headingly Cricket Ground and The National Media Museum. We are regular entrants to the Maths in Motion racecar challenge and the annual  Digital Animation competition.

We pride ourselves in the fantastic citizens that we help to develop in our school.  Please come and visit us and meet some of our fantastic pupils and the wonderful atmosphere we have created in school.
