Welcome to Nursery

Click here to meet Mrs Druce and Mrs Lightowler!

Hi, my name is Mrs Druce and I’ll be teaching in Nursery in September. I have worked at Crossley Hall for 5 Years. I have taught in Year 2 and across the Foundation Stage. I have been a teacher for 13 years; most of my experience has been in Early Years and Key Stage 1. I thoroughly enjoy teaching at Crossley Hall with the positive ethos the school has and how it strives to challenge and want the best for the pupils and staff. I love the creativity Crossley Hall has and that is why I enjoy teaching in the Foundation Stage and seeing the children develop interests in areas they may not have explored before. I am really looking forward to next year and seeing you all flourish in your first stage at Crossley Hall School.

Hello, my name is Mrs Lightowler and I’ll be teaching our Nursery children in September.  I’ve worked at Crossley Hall for 6 Years and taught in Year 3, Year 4 and across the Foundation Stage.  I’ve been a teacher for 23 years and I have experience in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

I really enjoy working and teaching at Crossley Hall Primary School. We aim to provide our children with fun, enjoyable experiences when they learn.  A teacher who has smiling, happy children and often laughter, is a great recipe for amazing learning. I also really enjoy working in partnership with parents because we all have your child’s best interests at heart, the same priorities, enabling the children to have the best start in life.

When I’m not at work I look after family, particularly supporting older relatives.  I love being outdoors and going on long walks in the countryside.  I love eating, so visiting cafes and restaurants for afternoon tea and fish and chips is a real treat!  I also really enjoy clothes shopping and finding fabulous bargains!!

Click here to meet Ms Naheed!

My name is Ms Naheed, I have been teaching at Crossley Hall for 5 years. I love working with children in early years and believe that a stimulating environment which promotes independent learning along with well-planned motivated activities help children learn most effectively.

I will be your teacher in your classroom, called CHiPS. I enjoy being creative and imaginative by making different types of pictures using paint, crayons and foam. I also enjoy having a go at completing some DIY jobs at home. I’m really looking forward to meeting you. I hope you’re excited as I am! All the staff want to make sure you are happy and have fun at Crossley Hall.  We have lots of exciting activities to do in CHiPS. You will be able to make friends with our existing children and others who are new to your class just like you. When you come I will be waiting to welcome you at the door. You will get to meet the rest of the staff who are all here to help you enjoy your time with us and make learning fun!

We will help you find your peg, which has your name on it. This is where you can hang your waterproof coat/wellies and your spare bag. In your bag don’t forget to put your nappies, wipes and two sets of spare clothes. The adult will be at hand to help you if you need changing.  Although you will have one hour with us on your first day there will be plenty to explore. You can explore different areas in the classroom such as the creative area where you can cut, glue colour or paint a picture to take home for your family. You can also enjoy yourself by relaxing whilst looking at books or sing a few familiar nursery rhymes with the adults. In CHiPS you can enjoy the outdoors. We have bikes, building material and outdoor games for you to explore. This may be thirsty work therefore we have snack time. We provide you with milk and different fruits. This could be bananas, apples or pears. You will find that the first day was so much fun that we will build your hours to the full session soon!

I am looking forward to having lots of fun with you!
