I’m Mr Bird and I’m really excited and looking forward to being your new teacher next year, as well as being a part of your welcoming school and community! I’m incredibly enthusiastic about all areas of the curriculum, especially reading – I love a good chat about a book and writing – I’m a bit of a grammar geek! In terms of what I look for in my students, I look for ‘good people’. These are people who treat others how they like to be treated, people who try their hardest at everything they do and people that strive to be exemplary members of society. During my spare time, I enjoy playing musical instruments, such as the guitar and harmonica. I also have an ambition to learn how to play the drums, however so far I’ve refrained as I don’t want to upset my neighbours! On top of this, I also love cycling and all things motorbikes, especially racing (in fact, I just love anything on two wheels!). I was due to take my motorbike test in March, however it was understandably postponed because of the lockdown, so I’m hoping to get the opportunity to take it over the holidays and enjoy the summer exploring and riding all over our beautiful country.
Take care, stay safe, be a good person and see you in September!
I would just like to introduce myself to you all. My name is Miss Longstaff and I will be teaching Year 6 in the new academic year. I am really looking forward to joining your school and getting to know each and every one of you. I have been teaching for six years now mainly in Key Stage 2 and absolutely love being a teacher. It is one of the best jobs in the world! One of the things I am looking forward to the most is getting back into the classroom with you all as I know we have been off a very long time and I am sure you can’t wait to get back to school. In my spare time, I love taking my little girl on long walks to the countryside to see all the different wildlife and animals. She will be turning 1 the week we return to school and I am sure you will hear lots about what we get up to when I get to meet you all. I also love going to watch rugby matches and cricket matches because I am really into my sports. I really hope you are all keeping safe and well during these strange times. Keep as positive as you can and have a fantastic summer! See you soon!
Hi year 5! My name is Miss Pople and I’m so excited to be your teacher in 6Z next year – I can’t wait to get cracking with our learning. This will be my second year at Crossley Hall; I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year, although it was cut short, and I know we are going to have a fantastic time next year with plenty of fun and hard work. I studied music at the University of Leeds and worked in many schools, in the office and as a teaching assistant, before deciding to become a teacher. I love playing music and hope this is something I can share with you at some point during our time together. I am a sports enthusiast, especially netball and badminton, and also have an allotment near my house and love growing my own food, something else which I hope we can explore together at some point next year. I hope you all have a fantastic summer; stay safe, stay happy and I can’t wait to meet you properly in September. See you soon!
Hi, I’m Tracie Bramley and I will be taking your child up to Year Six. I am really lucky – I already know many of the children who will be in my class from their time in Reception (when they were much smaller!) I really hope this will put the children at ease and help us get off to a flying start. I can’t wait to continue on their journey with them – Year Six will be new to all of us – and be a part of their amazing progress!
I love teaching at Crossley Hall and have spent time in Early Years, Year One and Year Two. I feel I have a good understanding of how your child is growing and how I can support them, both in their learning over the next year and the transition to high school. As a mum of two girls I also understand the pressures of being a parent and will always be around to support you where I can as well. I love teaching IPC (I learn new things along with the children) and English, so I’m really looking forward to working with your child and developing their fantastic skills into a love of reading which matches my own.
I can’t wait to get back to school in September and begin a new chapter!
